WEBINAR: Robinhood: A Director's Story

REGISTER NOW

Robinhood Markets Inc. skyrocketed in popularity this year with impressive financial performances and (no surprise to anyone paying attention) was a roller coaster ride of an IPO. The story is only just beginning for most investors but the dramatic effort (perhaps race against time) to upscale operations and corporate governance to keep up with user growth, product development, and the evolving regulatory and public scrutiny is a story worth telling. The directors’ viewpoint, in particular, is a rare vantage point for understanding the challenges for disruptive unicorns intent on going public. Paula Loop, previously Partner and leader of PwC’s Governance Insights Center, joined the Robinhood board in June of 2021 as its first female director. This webinar will be a one-on-one interview with Paula to discuss her path to the Robinhood board and her thoughts about the challenges of disruptive high growth companies.

PAULA LOOP

Paula Loop was named an independent director at Robinhood Markets as of June 2021. She recently retired from PwC where she led PwC’s Governance Insights Center. Paula has extensive experience in governance, technical accounting and SEC and financial reporting matters. Paula previously served as the firm’s New York Metro Regional Assurance Leader and prior to that as the U.S. and Global Talent Leader. She serves on PwC’s Board of Partners and on the firm’s Governance, Risk and Quality and Executive Compensation Committees. Paula is a Certified Public Accountant and also serves on the Foundation Board of the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB). She holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of California at Berkeley.
